A few years ago, we received a frantic call from UNE, when an excavator ruptured a live underground conduit. Although digging beyond the area of the conduit, the backhoe snagged a large shard of ledge, which inadvertently plunged into the conduit like a dagger, and browned out the power on that line.
Bowdoin College contracted our services to assist the Door Access System upgrades to twenty-three of their buildings. The catch was that they needed this project started and completed over their four-week winter break period, while maintaining building access control at all times.
Recently we were awarded the contract to rewire the historic Blaine House, residence to Maine’s Governors. The project contained many obstacles, not the least of which being the irreplaceable furnishings and wallpapers. One room in particular contained a striped pattern wall paper, patterned after a sample paper from President Lincoln’s White House (the actual sample is framed and hanging within the room in question). Simply put: cutting and patching was not an option.
