The People Plus Center of Brunswick

In recent times, strains of a wounded economy have affected many budgets, killing a lot of projects before they can get off the ground. In one particular case for us, we were able to jump into the fray and avoid such an occurrence. The People Plus Center of Brunswick recently took over an existing structure that once served the local School Department offices. The scope of work included a complete demolishing of the interior walls and ceilings, with new installations including HVAC, an elevator, teen center and kitchen.

Since the project started on a shoestring budget, it was no surprise that all of the contractors were put on task to find ways to reduce costs. For our part, we suggested salvaging any and all useable light fixtures from the existing building, as many of them had been installed under previous renovations not that long ago. In the end we reused over forty light fixtures from the old space—repairing some, and replacing older ballasts and bulbs where needed—and used several exit signs and emergency packs from our stock as well. Our efforts in conjunction with those of other trades saved loads of money, not to mention the project, and as a result the facility is now complete and fully operational.
